Hello! my name is Sadaf Nizam and I came to the US seven years ago from Bangladesh. My intended major is Mechanical Engineering, and my favorite subject is mathematics (yes I know ew), but in my opinion, I find math fascinating and I prefer doing math more than writing essays. I was part of a robotics team in high school and our team won the New York state championship and qualified for the world championship in Houston last year. Through robotics, I gained many skills such as cadding, 3d printing, and using different kinds of machines to cut materials, and I also have a 3d printer at home. Besides the nerdy boring stuff, I play many sports, such as Basketball, Soccer, Badminton, and tennis. I was part of the Basketball team in middle school and after that, I mainly played street ball. Other than those, I also love biking, driving, and going to the gym which helps me release stress. In addition to those hobbies, I also play a lot of video games (mainly pc games). I am also fluent in Bengali and English, and I would say the main issue with writing I have(according to my last professor) is that I lack confidence, for instance, I know what to write but I am just not sure if it will work. Also, back in middle school, I won a small spelling bee contest but as the years went on my spelling skills got worse. Lastly, I love nature and food, I wanna travel the world just to see the beautiful scenery in other countries and try distinct food from various cultures. So far I have been to Malaysia, Thailand, and The Himalayas.
